In 2017 a shock wave went through the halls of NAC in Las Vegas. The reason was the announcement by the startup lens company Atlas Lens Co. to present there high-quality, cinema-grade anamorphic lenses priced way below the current choices on the marked. Quickly this news spread through the conference and soon filmmakers around the world knew about it.
These are modern anamorphic lenses but their look is reminiscent of vintage anamorphic lenses with their signature streaking lens flares, and oval bokeh.
Due to modern optical designs, they have a slightly cleaner look and focus much closer if you compare them to some older anamorphic. They have excellent, reliable, modern housings.
