The Ultra Primes are the logical further development of the famous Standard and Super Speeds from Zeiss. In cooperation with ARRI, Zeiss developed lightweight and compact Prime lenses that provide reduced aberrations and less breathing thanks to the floating elements.
They have a beautiful bokeh, but are excellently sharp – even in the close focus range. They match perfectly with Zeiss ARRI Master Primes, ARRI Macros or the Alura Zoom. The high-end standard among the lighter fixed focal lengths.
Side Fact: The Ultra Primes were the first series of Zeiss lenses to eliminate the use of lead and arsenic in the manufacture of the glass.
