The Cooke Anamorphic /i Full Frame 1.8x prime lenses mark a natural progression in the world of filmmaking, catering to large format production while retaining the distinct anamorphic characteristics such as flare and oval bokeh. These cinema primes are widely used in various commercial productions, offering impressive control over flare, distortion, veiling glare, and spherical aberrations.

With a coverage circle that spans a complete 24 x 36 still size sensor, these lenses employ a 1.8 squeeze ratio. A 2x squeeze would result in the loss of too many pixels, while a 1.6x squeeze wouldn’t provide enough anamorphic character. However, at 1.8x squeeze, you’ll find the sweet spot with a remarkable anamorphic feel, preserving about 90% of the pixels at a 2.4:1 aspect ratio. If you choose to shoot at 2.7:1, you’ll have access to the entire frame without losing any pixels.
