The DZOFILM Arcana lenses bring the classic anamorphic look into a surprisingly small and lightweight design. With a 1.5x squeeze factor, they offer a nice balance between the wider field of view, oval bokeh and characteristic horizontal flares of anamorphic cinematography, while keeping some of the flexibility of spherical lenses.
What makes the Arcana series particularly interesting is its compact size. Weighing around 700g each and measuring just 80mm in length, they are a great choice for handheld work, gimbals and smaller camera setups where traditional anamorphic lenses can become quite heavy.
The lenses have a distinctive character, with gently stretched backgrounds, oval highlights and horizontal flares that pick up subtle colors from the surrounding light. At the same time, they maintain good sharpness and contrast without making the image feel overly clinical.
Our set consists of three focal lengths: 32mm, 45mm and 75mm, all with a consistent T2.1 aperture. The 1.5x squeeze also makes them an interesting option for shooting anamorphic on modern Full Frame sensors without committing to the more extreme look of traditional 2x anamorphics.
With their consistent size, 80mm front diameter and 270° focus rotation, the Arcana lenses are easy to work with on set. A compact and versatile anamorphic set that offers plenty of creative possibilities.
