The Optica Elites are characterized by a very pleasant color rendering and a uniform warm character. The qualities are reminiscent of what you would expect from a Cooke S4 set yet the Optica Elites offer a higher speed and remain very consistent even at full aperture. They are characterized by excellent optical and mechanical properties and of course their very characteristic rainbow flairs.
Following the dissolution of its partnership with Luma Tech and the collaborative venture in creating the Super16mm set of Optar Primes, the company proceeded to produce cine lenses independently. Over time, they expanded their offerings to include proprietary lines of 35mm spherical prime and zoom lenses, along with multiple generations of anamorphic lenses.
