The Sony VENICE 2 is a high end digital cinema camera built for feature films, premium commercials, high end TV productions and demanding large scale shoots. Available for rental in Berlin, it offers internal X OCN recording and a choice of 8.6K or 6K full frame sensors within Sony’s flagship cinema platform. The VENICE 2 is designed for productions that need maximum image quality, broad post production flexibility and a camera system that fits naturally into established cinema workflows.  

Compared to the BURANO, the VENICE 2 is the more production focused and expandable system. While the BURANO is built around mobility, internal stabilisation and a smaller overall footprint, the VENICE 2 is aimed more directly at larger crews, studio environments and high end camera builds where modularity, monitoring options and workflow flexibility are key. For productions that want the highest tier Sony cinema setup, the VENICE 2 sits above the BURANO as the more dedicated platform for premium narrative and commercial work.  

At the same time, the VENICE 2 can be paired well with smaller Sony Cinema Line cameras on larger productions. Cameras such as the BURANO, FX6 or FX3 may be used for gimbal work, vehicle rigs, handheld setups or tighter spaces, while the VENICE 2 remains the main camera for the core unit. This makes it a strong choice for productions that want a high end full frame cinema image while still keeping a flexible multi camera workflow within the Sony ecosystem. This last point is an inference based on Sony positioning these cameras within the same Cinema Line rather than a direct Sony claim.
