Sony FX6

The Sony FX6 is a full frame cinema camera designed for commercials, documentary shoots, TV productions and lightweight feature film setups. Available for rental in Berlin, it combines a compact body with professional cinema features such as internal 4K recording up to 120 fps, more than 15 stops of dynamic range and Sony’s electronic variable ND filter. Sony describes the FX6 as a full frame Cinema Line camera built around mobility, high sensitivity and flexible professional workflows.  

Compared to the FX3, the FX6 is the more production oriented option. Both cameras offer full frame imaging and strong low light performance, but the FX6 adds features that are especially useful in professional on set environments, including the electronic variable ND filter, a body designed for easier rigging and handling, and a workflow that is more immediately suited to crew based productions. That makes it a strong choice for shoots that need a compact camera without giving up core cinema functionality.  

Compared to the BURANO and VENICE, the FX6 sits in a lighter and faster part of Sony’s Cinema Line. It is not intended to replace those larger camera systems on high end productions, but it can work very well as a flexible main camera for smaller crews or as an additional camera on bigger shoots, for example on gimbals, in vehicles, for handheld work or in tighter setups. For productions that want a full frame Sony image with a more mobile setup than BURANO or VENICE, the FX6 remains one of the most practical choices in the range.
