SONY Burano
The Sony BURANO is a full frame digital cinema camera designed for feature films, commercials, TV productions and documentary shoots. Available for rental in Berlin, it combines Sony’s 8.6K full frame sensor with 16 stops of latitude, internal image stabilisation, an electronic variable ND filter and a compact body designed for more mobile cinema workflows. This makes the BURANO a strong choice for productions that want high end image quality in a package that remains practical for handheld, location and lightweight crew setups.
Compared to the Sony FX6 and FX3, the BURANO is built for more demanding cinema workflows and higher end productions. It offers a clear step up in resolution, recording flexibility and overall production depth, while still staying more compact and easier to handle than a traditional large cinema body. At the same time, it keeps some of the practical advantages that make Sony cameras attractive on set, including a relatively mobile form factor and the variable ND system.
Compared to the VENICE, the BURANO is the more compact and mobile option within Sony’s higher end cinema lineup. While the VENICE is aimed more directly at large scale cinema productions and established studio workflows, the BURANO offers a more flexible all round setup for productions that want a high end full frame image with a smaller footprint. For many shoots, it can work as a main camera where size and speed matter, while still fitting naturally into more advanced Sony cinema workflows.
Our BURANO package is designed for practical on set use and can be configured for a wide range of productions. Whether for handheld work, commercials, documentary shooting or larger cinema setups, the camera can be adapted with professional accessories and flexible rigging options to suit different workflows.
