With their new set, the Cato, BLAZAR are turning the world of anamorphics on its head. The lenses cover full frame and weigh just 900 grams per lens. The close focus is also impressive at approx. 80 cm.
With these lenses, BLAZAR wanted to create a mixture of the traditional 2x anamorphic look and modern small optics that can also be used on drones or with the DJI Ronin 4D camera. If you are looking at other full frame 2x anamorphic lenses, the weight easily goes into the kilograms. The Catos are probably the lightest 2x anamorphic series there is right now at 900 grams per lens. This makes them a perfect fit for the Ronin.
The lenses have a strong barrel distortion, especially in the shorter focal lengths, which is very pronounced towards the edges. Our set is equipped with the “neutral” silver flares. The light color of the light source is reflected in the flares.
With dual focus markings available in feet and meters and the flexibility to choose between PL or EF mounting options, the BLAZAR Cato set offers versatility especially for small camera setups.
